Desert MAN Can 2017
This year we kick off with Desert MAN Can; an expedition that will take two cyclists & a support team to one of the harshest regions of Australia - The Simpson Desert. Sand, sun & harsh elements will set the scene for what will be a tough but incredibly rewarding expedition.
Stewart Boswerger and Callie Le Roux will take to mountain bikes & spend 10 days crossing the desert dunes. The expedition will be supported by 3 MAN/SLRV Expedition trucks and students from JMC Academy will capture the journey & release a documentary in early 2018.
DMC will raise awareness & funds for Australian charity beyondblue. They provide information & support to help everyone in Australia achieve their best possible mental health, whatever their age & wherever they live.
TRAINING EVENT #1 - Moreton Bay LunarC
We launched Desert MAN Can at the In 2 Adventure LunarC Mountain Bike Ride in the Moreton Bay Region. The two amateur cyclists, Stewart and Callie, used the event to kick of their training session in preparation for their ride across the desert in August this year.
TRAINING EVENT #2 - Double Island Point
In July, the Desert MAN Can crew spent 3-day at Double Island Point; allowing the riders to practice riding the 50 kms they plan to ride each day when they hit the sand in the Simpson Desert. The weekend was a fantastic opportunity for team bonding, for bike training and to further test the SLRV Expedition trucks on the sand. Check out the video.
